Wellstead Hall, WA, Noongar COUNTRY

Wellstead Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Noongar People, with close associations to the Menang, Goreng and Wirlomin Peoples.

Built in 1969 with funds raised by the community, Wellstead Hall was first used by the kindergarten group as young children were not attending school yet. They would travel from as far as Manypeaks and Borden.

A highlight of the halls’ history has been the “Wellstead Players” social group who created fashion parades, music nights and dance performances with dinner or supper provided.. These events combined with the surrounding districts of Gowellen, South Stirling and Green Range and were sometimes taken on the toad to Bremer Bay and Albany. The Wellstead Players events raised the funds to extend the hall which were completed in 1986. A kitchen and wrap around verandah were added in 2014 by the Progress Association.

Festival of Small Halls rolls into Wellstead on Thursday, 21 August 2025 with Charlie A’Court and Emily Barker.
