Beltana. We’ve toured to Beltana twice before Beltana.

We’ve toured to Beltana twice before and can’t wait to return this Winter. These photos are from the last visit with Alana Wilkinson and the Paul McKenna Band, days before the pandemic hit. It was such a beautiful show.

Beltana is over 5 hours from Adelaide, almost straight up North past the Flinders Rangers.

This beautiful tin building with deep green doors and slim gums standing alongside, is filled with over 200 paintings of the Flinders Rangers. The 140-year-old hall is surround by deep red dirt, giving it that outback feel city folk dream about, we can’t wait for Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan and Chris Tamwoy to fill the space with their songs and stories.

We’re returning to this beautiful town, and the wonderful hosts at the Beltana Community Hall on Adnyamathanha Country Saturday 27th August 2022.

Beltana is just one of the amazing places in South Australia we’ll be visiting across August and September. Full dates, places and tickets in our bio – see you there.

The next artist jumping in the bus for Festival of The next artist jumping in the bus for Festival of Small Halls Winter Tour 2022: South Australia is dynamic and enamoured duo Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan.

Each with their individual ridiculously stacked musical resumes , Mal and Kylie's duo show will have you utterly enthralled at the performance of talent and creativity, horns and strings, all moulded into a delicately balanced musical pie.

There's no doubt you know of their previous touring accompaniments (Totally Gourdgeous, Formidble Vegetable, Orchestra Victoria, Stevie Wonder, Shirley Bassey) - and as Woodford Folk Festival veterans, we couldn't be more excited to have them exploring the festival state with Chris Tamwoy in three weeks time.

On this day nine years ago, the very first trial r On this day nine years ago, the very first trial run of a Festival of Small Halls performance in Australia took place. Look at all these sweet faces!

The founder of Small Halls in Aus, Chloe Goodyear, led a merry party of Woodfordians up to beautiful Mt Mee in the hinterlands of Moreton Bay. Armed with cakes, tea, mulled wine, and the bunting that we now can't work without, they lit a spark that has carried through nine years of heart, of hope and of walking hand in hand with communities all over Australia. We love this beautiful project and all it has given us.

It was all inspired by our friends in Canada, the original @smallhalls, who have just wrapped their first full festival since the pandemic began - you know, if you love Small Halls you should think about hopping over the ditch and checking them out too!
