Ngarabal Country

Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts Museum and Theatre stands on the traditional lands of the
Ngarabal People.

Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts Museum and Theatre stands on the traditional lands of the Ngarabal Country People. At the heart of Tenterfield stands one of Australia’s most significant cultural landmarks. The Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts is a place where heritage, creativity and community meet – celebrating our past while providing a vibrant stage for contemporary culture. Opened in 1876, the beautifully preserved historic building originally housed the Tenterfield School of Arts. The building has been central to Tenterfield’s civic, cultural and social life for well over a century. Today, it continues that proud tradition as both a museum preserving local and national history, and a theatre and cinema showcasing live performance, film and community events.

Festival of Small Halls returns to Tenterfield on Sunday, 7 June 2026 with Barleyshakes Duo (IRE/AUS) and Old Man Luedecke (CANADA).

Opening the show will be local artist Clay Blyth!

Clay Blyth creates a unique blend of country blues music with acoustic guitar, mouth harp and foot stomp. With soulful and humble lyrics accompanied by original music, Clay creates a sound that is honest and true. Being recognised by the Australian music industry throughout his career, Clay was invited to the APRA Music Awards in 2010 and was a finalist in the 2013 NCIEA Dolphin Music Awards, supported by Cole Clark Guitars & Bigfoot Stomp Boxes through this period.

Performing at professional surfing events and a variety of music festivals, including Byron Bay Bluesfest, Festival of the Sun and music venues all over the east coast of Australia, Clay has also opened shows for Australian artists such as the Black Sorrows, Llyod Spiegel, Nathan Cavaleri and Tijuana Cartel, to name a few.  Clay is an artist that shares his vulnerability and truth, to connect to his audience with original music.
