Swansea Town Hall, TAS, Paredarerme Country

Swansea Town Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Paredarerme People.
Welcome to Swansea Town Hall, a charming gem on the East Coast of Tasmania! Nestled in the heart of the picturesque town, the hall has been a hub of community activity since its opening.
Did you know that Swansea, Tasmania, was established in 1821 and is one of the oldest towns in Australia? This charming coastal town is not only rich in history but also offers a delightful mix of natural beauty and community spirit. The Swansea Town Hall has been a cornerstone of the town, hosting countless events and celebrations over the years.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Swansea on Thursday, 16 January 2025 with Susan O’Neill and Monique Clare.
Opening the show will be local act Matilda!

As a musician growing up on the East Coast, Matilda has played piano since age six and at age twelve she self-taught herself to play the guitar. Through these skills, she has developed a passion for songwriting and singing, creating her own unique style of music. She enjoys encapsulating emotions and messages in her songs, and her acoustic sound pairs well with her soulful vocals. She creates an ethereal atmosphere on stage and allows the listener to feel understood through her authentic and heartfelt lyrics. Matilda loves playing her folky, soulful covers and originals to a variety of audiences; from festivals to private venues.
