Springbrook Community Hall, QLD, Kombumerri Country

Springbrook Community Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Kombumerri People.
Thanks to the eruption of an ancient volcano 23 million years ago, Springbrook is home to a multitude of things that grow, gurgle and glow. Spectacular waterfalls and lookouts abound and The Natural Bridge cave twinkles with resident glow worms. The wilderness is marked by strangler figs, rare birds and glow-in-the-dark mushrooms. The historically listed Springbrook Community Hall was built in 1947 for the fledgling community to hold dances, listen to bands, have gatherings, hold meetings and to celebrate events. Things haven’t changed much in seventy four years and the hall continues to host dances, bands, gatherings, meetings and celebrations for the residents of Springbrook – and they would love to see you there too.
Fun fact: the area has long been rumoured to be the habitat of yowies, with ‘researchers’ claiming genuine sightings.
Festival of Small Halls returns to Springbrook on Sunday, 29 October 2023 with Monique Clare and Shane Pendergast.
Opening the show will be local act Dale Davis!

Originally from New Zealand, Dale Davis moved with family to the Gold Coast in 2003. Music has been a journey of Self Discovery for Dale. It has enriched and shaped their identity and propelled a transformative journey of growth and realisation of true potential.
