Sarina, 13 July 2024

Bob Wood Cultural Hall, QLD, Yuwi Country

Bob Wood Cultural Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Yuwi People.

Bob Wood Cultural Hall, a Bicentennial gift to the Sarina Community, heart of Sarina, has hosted everything from school dances, romances, fetes and recitals, even funerals. The first hall on this site, Sarina Shire Hall, was built in 1912 and hosted silent films, swinging dances, working bees for the soldiers in WW1 and WW2 and so much more.

Sarina is the sugar cane capital of Australia, surrounded by beautiful relaxing beaches and fishing reefs, set amongst green treed ranges. A very friendly little town and surrounding district.

Festival of Small Halls returns to Sarina on Saturday, 13 July 2024 with Quote The Raven and Hailey Calvert.

There will be catering by Sarina Lions Club available from 5pm to 7.30pm – rib fillet burgers, reef fish, hot dogs and hot chips. There will be a bar with beer, wine, soft drinks and water from 5pm to close, as well as tea and coffee.
