Sarina, 2 December 2023

Bob Wood Cultural Hall, QLD, Yuwi Country

Bob Wood Cultural Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Yuwi People.

Bob Wood Cultural Hall, a Bicentennial gift to the Sarina Community, the heart of Sarina, has hosted everything from school dances, romances, fetes and recitals, even funerals. The first hall on this site, Sarina Shire Hall, was built in 1912 and hosted silent films, swinging dances, working bees for the soldiers in WW1 and WW2 and so much more.

Sarina is the sugar cane capital of Australia, surrounded by beautiful relaxing beaches and fishing reefs, set amongst green treed ranges. A very friendly little town and surrounding district.
