Rainbow Beach Community Centre, QLD, Butchulla & Kabi Kabi Country

Rainbow Beach Community Centre stands on the traditional lands of the Butchulla & Kabi Kabi People.
What do you find when you reach the end of the rainbow? The folks in Rainbow Beach know – it’s a pot of golden sand, standing on a sapphire-blue ocean and fringed by ancient, multi-coloured sand dunes. With all this vibrant colour and natural treasure, it only makes sense that the Rainbow Beach Community Hall is full of light and simple finishes. The building is a signature design by local architect Walter Dobkins and is modern, but in harmony with the surrounds. It’s got a spacious earthy look, balanced with innovation. Which is kind of funny, because that’s a great way to describe the rest of this modern, eco-friendly town full of entrepreneuring locals with big visions, big hearts and a keen connection to all that surrounds them – including each other. Rainbow Beach is also the gateway to K’Gari and the UNESCO Great Sandy Biosphere, and home to the Carlo Sandblow.
Festival of Small Halls returns to Rainbow Beach on Saturday, 10 December 2022 with Inn Echo and Sam Buckingham.
Opening the show will be local act Tina Goodwin!

Multi instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Tina Goodwin is originally from the Sunshine Coast but her music and song writing flourished while spending 9 years performing and sharing music in the Margaret River region. Since throwing down roots in Rainbow Beach, Tina’s Folk/Soul inspired originals have been heard in most venues on the Cooloola Coast. Her sometimes cheeky lyrics, epic djembe playing and down to earth presence makes her a favourite among locals.
A BBQ will be a running from 5:30pm – 6:30pm with coffee and cakes available , catered by Boomerang Bags. The Hall committee will be providing a bar from 5:30pm – 7:00pm and during interval, serving beer, wine, soft drinks, then closing after interval.
