Built in 1894, the Pyree School of Arts hall, known fondly as The Red Shed, is located in beautiful dairy farming country near the mighty Shoalhaven River. Through time it has served a variety of purposes for the local community, such as a venue for concerts and dances, a library and gymnasium, premises for local sporting clubs, and even as a municipal council chambers. Managed by the Pyree Literary Institute it remains a much loved local community facility, popular for weddings, parties, anything!

Pyree School of Arts Hall stands on lands traditionally owned by the Yuin People.

The show will open with 17-year-old singer-songwriter from the NSW south coast.Joe Visser.

He plays guitar, piano and drums, and describes his music as ‘alternative folk’. Joe has been performing professionally since the age of 13. He has appeared at numerous festivals, including MCA Genext (18/19), Burradise Festival (17/18/19), SeeChange (18) Shoalhaven River Festival (17), and KV Folk Festival (youth 17). He has played support sets for Daniel Champagne, Elizabeth Rae, The Bean Project and Scott Cook, as well as lending his talents to many local charity events.

Joe was the April 2017 winner of Shoalhaven Unearthed. He was also a participant in the 2017 Young Coasties songwriting project and his song ‘Fear’ appears on the Young Coasties album. Joe released his first EP (Joe Visser: EP No. 1) in December 2017. Joe’s song ‘Playing With Fire’ was shortlisted in the 2017 ACMF National Songwriting Award. Joe’s song ‘Freakshow Carnival’ was shortlisted in the 2019 ACMF National Songwriting Award, and was released as a single in November 2019. In April 2020, Joe co-founded the South Coast StayList Festival, which comprised 17 local artists and bands streamed live on Instagram. His song ‘Trip Out Of Town’ was a finalist in the 2020 ACMF National Songwriting Award.

Joe is currently performing and working on material for a new EP.
