Pemberton Mill Hall, WA, Noongar Country

Pemberton Mill Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Noongar People.
The Pemberton Mill Hall stands in the heart of Pemberton, a small village surrounded by tall kauri trees that are cloaked in an explosion of wildflowers in the spring. It was built in Pemberton in 1913 for the Mill workers, and is now heritage listed in recognition of its services to the community since Pemberton’s settlement. It was constructed by volunteer labour using donations of prime jarrah timber on land donated by the State Sawmill.
This hall is locally owned and locally loved – it operates wholly by volunteers, grants, fundraising and hard work! Over time, it has been used to show films – even featuring in the filming of the Jasper Jones movie – and now holds a host of old time dances, weddings and fairs. It is sustained by very active members and community volunteers who help maintain the building and show up in droves for busy bees to maintain the gardens and building.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Pemberton on Saturday, 30 April 2022 with Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse and Jack Davies.
