Winter Tour 2024: Coastal Queensland
featuring Quote The Raven (CAN) and Hailey Calvert (AUS)

ECMA award winning Quote the Raven, formed by Jordan Coaker and Kirsten Rodden-Clarke, is currently working on their third studio album, building on the success of their acclaimed albums “Can’t Hold the Light” and “Golden Hour.” As a three-time MusicNL group of the year, they seamlessly merge Americana-Folk Music with East Coast storytelling, sharing tales of a small-town touring band experiencing the world.
With widespread tours across Canada and dates in the US, UK, Australia, Trinidad, and Germany, the duo has graced prestigious festivals such as the Mariposa Folk Festival, Vancouver Island, Vancouver Folk Festival, and Stanfest. In 2024, Quote the Raven embarks on another adventurous year, enchanting audiences at the Port Fairy Folk Festival and Blue Mountains Folk Festival in Australia, along with the Orkney Folk Festival in Scotland.
Beautiful harmonies, chiming guitar, clever banter, and charming as hell! – Nick Spacek, The Pitch
In a world where there are a LOT of extremely good acts offering beautiful harmony singing, putting on a show BETWEEN songs too definitely gives Quote the Raven an edge in the entertainment efficiency department… – Heather Kitching, Roots Music Canada
…nothing short of exquisite – Canadian Beats

Hailey Calvert’s voice is never the one people expect to hear when she starts to sing, giving her the element of surprise early on in her performances. It’s that strong, breathtaking voice and achingly honest folk tunes that makes each audience member feel like they are the only people in the room to hear her stories. Those same song writing skills saw Hailey take out the blues category in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition with her song ‘I Won’t Forget About You’.
Growing up in a small mining town could have been musically limiting, but lucky for Hailey her parents were fans of artists like Eric Clapton, Archie Roach and The Police. Time spent passively listening to such legends sparked an interest in storytelling and the power of music. Later discovering her own love for Joni Mitchell, Amy Winehouse and Sam Cooke developed her unique sound described as ‘honest, thoughtful song writing with vintage soul vocals’.
She’s spent the last few years building a following as a solo artist both in Australia and internationally. Hailey has toured to London, Ireland and America including a performance at New York’s famed music venue The Bitter End. This Greenwich Village favourite has previously seen shows by Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Bob Dylan.
Hailey’s unique, expressive guitar skills and relatable stage presence have also impressed audiences at Woodford Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival and Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, as well as packed rooms all over Australia.
A much-loved player in the Australian music scene, Hailey is an independent performer making a lasting impression.
Hailey’s honest song-writing and emotive, yet flawless delivery draws the listener in like few others can achieve. She creates a connection between performer and audience I’ve rarely witnessed. – Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival director Colin Thompson
It’s rare to come across a voice so pure and captivating, especially in todays flooded scene of ever-changing pop idols – Brad Cameron, Rave
Hailey had the whole room in a trance with her intricate guitar picking floating underneath her strong, Natalie Merchant-rich vocals. This cleverly crafted song was a great opener, showcasing her strengths as a confident and intense musician. – Matt Schrader, Australian Musicians Network
