Travelling along the Grafton – Armidale road in Northern NSW, a passer-by could be forgiven for thinking Nymboida is a quiet sleepy backwater… But amid the peaceful beauty (a little blacker than usual), there is a vibrant, thriving community.
Nymboidians are a proud, strong, fiercely independent (and good looking) people who have proved themselves to be resilient in the face of adversity.
Nymboida was hit in the early days of the devastating fires that are ravaging this country, resulting in the loss of 100 homes for humans and so many more for our precious wildlife. With characteristic forte and good humour, we rallied, pulled on our working boots and got on with the immense task required for a recovery. We thought we would have to cancel FOSH but with the support and incredible generosity from people outside of the community we decided to go ahead.
