Nowa Nowa Community Hall, VIC, Gunai Kurnai Country

Nowa Nowa Community Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Gunai Kurnai People.

The Nowa Nowa Hall was built in July 1926, funded mainly by public donation, lighting was originally by kerosene lamps, later ‘gloria lights’, then a generator, until electricity connected in 1964.

It was recently given a fresh coat of paint and a little kitchen renovation which uncovered metal plates inside the walls that were signed by travelling performances dating back to the 1920’s.

Festival of Small Halls rolls into Nowa Nowa on Sunday, 30 March 2025 with Hat Fitz and Cara and Lucy Farrell.

Opening the show will be local act Olivia Lay!

Olivia is an emerging artist known for her compelling guitar playing and songwriting, inspired by the likes of John Butler, John Mayer and Newton Faulkner.

A BBQ and grazing platters will be available for purchase on the night.
