Narrawong Mechanics Institute Hall, VIC, Gunditjmara Country

Narrawong Mechanics Institute Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Gunditjmara People.
When the Narrawong General Store closed, the community hall became the only meeting place in Narrawong, and is used for fitness, craft, and all manner of other activities for the community. Local community groups meet here to discuss community activities and needs, it is the home of the Narrawong Playgroup, regular weekly gatherings with meals for the elderly are held, as well as Cup Day lunches and other fundraising events.
The pretty village of Narrawong is on the northern shore of Portland Bay and sits alongside the mouth of the Surry River. The foreshore is a popular spot for lazy summer holidays, with angling for bream & salmon in the river and mulloway & snapper can be caught in the surf.
