The Citadel, NSW, Ngandowal and Minyungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation

The Citadel stands on the traditional lands of the Ngandowal and Minyungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation, specifically the Goodjinburra, Tulgi-gin, and Moorung-Moobah clans.
The Citadel is a century old former Salvation Army Building, revived to bring music back between its walls and into our community. An intimate venue with a very supportive regular crowd, that enjoy the company of new folk, both local and from far and wide.
Since renovating, reinvigorating, and finally reopening as The Citadel in 2019 we have survived two landslips (2017 and 2023), Covid restrictions and uncertainties, including border closures, and the challenges with changing financial environments… but with our wonderful community support we are still here!
We encourage people to dance if they want to and to leave their world behind, to come on their own and feel welcome.
