Mount Alford, 26 July 2024

Mount Alford School of Arts Hall, QLD

The Mount Alford School of Arts Hall was originally built in 1906 and has been a central hub for community events and gatherings ever since. Agatha Christie, the renowned mystery writer, once took the stage herself at Mount Alford Hall in 1922 and Mathew Pritchard (her grandson) attended a morning tea in her honour in March this year.

Festival of Small Halls rolls into Mount Alford on Friday, 26 July 2024 with Quote The Raven and Hailey Calvert.

Opening the show will be local act Laura Frank!

A firecracker on stage with a rare gift for storytelling. Laura Frank’s irresistibly fierce voice possesses a vulnerability that lets you know she’s truly lived the words she sings.

Frank has supported Aussie legend, James Blundell as well as Brad Cox, Chocolate Starfish, Sarah McLeod and Daryl Braithwaite.

At the 2023 Tamworth Country Music Festival she took home the Most Promising Future Star at the Australian Country Music People’s Choice Awards and was a finalist in 2024 for ‘Best Female Vocal’ and ‘Best Song’.

Frank has just returned from a 60+ date Regional Australian Tour with Tom Curtain and the Katherine Outback Experience and will be hitting the stage at one of Australia’s most renowned country music festivals – Gympie Music Muster – as part of the Pre Muster this August.

There will be catering on the night including hamburgers, as well as a bar run by the committee of Mount Alford Hall.
