Mapleton Hall, QLD, Jinibara Country

Mapleton Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Jinibara People.

The Mapleton Hall and Sportsground was established in 1910. The land was donated by a local pioneer, Mr.W. H. Rosser, and was established and has been maintained as a trust. This Hall was rebuilt in 1916 following a disastrous bush fire destroying the hall in 1915. The timber interior & exterior are in very good condition, and the surrounding grounds are well maintained and enjoyed by so many. A Bunya Tree stands proudly at the driveway entrance. The Mapleton Hall is a popular local venue used for yoga, pilates, dance classes, meditation, family functions, weddings, soccer training, or tennis on the two courts.

Festival of Small Halls returns to Mapleton on Sunday, 16 October 2022 with Karl S. Williams and Catherine MacLellan.

Opening the show will be local act Shaky Razor!

From the world of alternative country, blues and balladry come Shaky Razor, alias Tom ‘Shaky’ Ryan and John ‘Razor’ Roza. Together, this masterful duo complement each other’s storytelling skills, with Razor’s deep bluesy vibes contrasting with Shaky’s soaring notes and delicate tones. Their ability to tell their own stories with passion and compassion, as well as their unique interpretation of some timeless classics makes them a force to reckon with. Add to this their fine skills along the fretboard… Shaky’s sweet fingerpicking style alongside Razor’s strong lead breaks and you have a vocal and acoustic match made in heaven.

Meals will be available catered by the Blackall Range Lions Club from 3pm. This includes gourmet hamburgers, German bratwurst sausages with fresh sauerkraut, and vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options. Local primary school P&C will be serving homemade cakes, tea and coffee from 2.30pm with proceeds to the school chaplaincy. A bar will be available catered by BRULPA.
