Ma Ma Creek Community Centre, QLD

This rural community takes its name from the creek that runs through it. The Community Centre is the second iteration of this gathering place, after the first sadly burnt down. The new Ma Ma Creek Community Centre is located on the original site of the Ma Ma Creek School – across the road from a small church lovely enough to merit a road trip all on its own, and a Historic General Store – both over 100 years old! Our breeding pair of white-breasted sea eagles are still living on the banks of Ma Ma Creek. You can see them from the western side of our freshly renovated hall. Last year’s inaugural Festival of Small Halls concert was a day during a week of flooding in the Lockyer Valley. Quite a few patrons could not get home, so most of us had someone ‘stranded’ to take home. It was a great night!
Festival of Small Halls returns to Ma Ma Creek on Friday, 18 November 2022 with Inn Echo and Sam Buckingham.
Opening the show will be local act Tahnee Georgia!

When asked for a bio, Tahnee said “I just Work and Mum and Music”.
Tahnee grew up around the Glass House Mountains. It was time spent by camp fires, listening to songs that inspired the musician within. A small guitar was given as a gift, chords were learnt. Tahnee was encouraged by artists in the Valley to perform at local grassroots festivals, where she has been developing her songwriting and performing skills.
