Lavers Hill Community Hall, VIC, Gulidjan and Gadubanud Country

Lavers Hill Community Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Gulidjan and Gadubanud People.
Built in 1933 on the highest point of the epic Great Ocean Road, Lavers Hill Hall is best seen to be believed. This is a hall full of love, colour and community art. Inside, crocheted bunting adorns the ceiling and big, bright paintings by a local artist hang on the walls. Outside, thanks to a 2021 community art project, murals covering the water-tanks celebrate all things Otways – the rocky cliffs, tall trees and ancient plant life of the ranges nearby. Due to its proximity to so many sites on the Great Ocean Road, Lavers Hill is a favourite among tourist hotspots and indeed all roads lead to Lavers Hill – the town of less than 100 is at the meeting point of the roads to Colac, Cobden, Apollo Bay and Port Campbell.
Festival of Small Halls returns to Lavers Hill on Wednesday, 15 March 2023 with Scott Cook and Folk Bitch Trio.
Opening the show will be local act Matt Orchard!

One of the Otway region’s hardest-working musicians and beloved Apollo Bay music teacher, Matt Orchard, won the 2022 Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award for his ‘House of Rock’ curriculum. A thoroughly seasoned performer, Matt has played close to four thousand gigs across a 25 year career as an acoustic solo artist and as a member of his rock’n’roll band, The Rank Outsiders.
Bring your own picnic basket dinner, drinks and nibbles. The Lavers Hill K12 College will provide a refreshments stand, selling popcorn, soft drinks, teas and coffee. Cash only.
