Irongate Community Hall, QLD

The original Irongate Hall burnt down in 2001 after many years of community service. The current Irongate Memorial School of Arts Hall was rebuilt and opened in 2003. The Hall is situated in Irongate, a thriving farming community 20km Northwest of Pittsworth and is named for the Iron Gate used to mark the southern boundary of one of the original pastoral holdings of the district. The hall has expansive views overlooking the Darling Downs and has been host to many weddings, parties community gatherings and sporting events over the years.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Irongate on Thursday, 29 September 2022 with Catherine MacLellan and Karl S. Williams.
Opening the show will be local act Ronnie and Johnny!

Ronnie and Johnny have released their debut album of country songs, “Not Made For the City”. These are songs that have come from their own lived experience and stories passed on from family and friends. This is authentic country music from people who really are not made for the city. This couple is a real later life love story who met through music, via the local music club of Broxburn of which they have been long time band members. Eventually they fell in love, reflected in the song “Second Chance”, and got married in 2017. Ronnie and Johnny play their music at local venues around Toowoomba and are happy to travel further afield. They also play a wide variety of music ranging from old traditional songs to more modern country rock and some good old fashioned rock and roll.
The local P & C will be providing a BBQ supper.
