Senior Citizens Centre, QLD, Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi Country

The Senior Citizens Centre stands on the traditional lands of the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi People.
The ‘Senior Citz’s’ is perfectly located in the centre of Gympie town and has recently played host to a variety of sell-out touring performances from across Queensland. Gympie is known as ‘the town that saved Queensland’ with the discovery of gold by James Nash in 1867, and was originally known as Nashville.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Gympie on Wednesday 27 May 2026 with
Barleyshakes Duo and Old Man Luedecke (CAN).
Opening the show will be Mestise!

Mestise (meh-steece) is brother – sister duo Savannah & Lennox Jones, brought together by their shared love of music and defying the odds of sibling rivalry. Riffing off the Tagalog phrase “Mestisa”, meaning of mixed native Filipino and foreign ancestry, Savannah and Lennox carry their diverse musicianship into soulful melodies with an encapsulating presence. Homegrown in Gympie, the young duo is keen to share their alt-folk songs.
