Glenden Recreation Centre, QLD, Jangga Country

Glenden Recreation Centre stands on the traditional lands of the Jangga People.

Glenden Recreation Centre is the focal point for this small community of passionate residents located 110km west of Mackay. Established in the early 1980s to support the nearby Newlands Coal Mine, the town is surrounded by cattle grazing stations. A nearby attraction (24km away) is Lake Elphinstone, a natural lake that is a great spot for fishing, birdwatching and popular among the region’s local water sports fanatics.

Festival of Small Halls returns to Glenden on Saturday, 10 October 2026 with Nicole Murray and Old Man Luedecke.

Tickets are free to this show thanks to the Isaac Regional Council, with support from the Glenden Rural Interest Group. Tickets are limited, so please click the link below to claim your free tickets.
