Eudlo

Eudlo

Gubbi Gubbi people, name from local term for ‘freshwater eel’

Eudlo is famous for many things – great jam and preserves, a train crash back in the days of black and white photography, its nearby Buddhist institute of Chen Rezig, the fact that it doesn’t have ‘town water’, the satisfying way that the name of the town rolls off the tongue when the train conductor lets you know the station is coming up and the community pride in maintaining such a close-knit community within a rapidly developing shire. Originally settled as a timber town and milling centre, Eudlo’s retained the character of a small town as its developed its cultural goings-on – markets, an art gallery, and the general activities of its day to day residents – some backyards look decorated for an eternal party.
