Bungowannah Hall, NSW, Wiradjuri Country

Bungowannah Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri People.

The Bungowannah Hall was constructed in 1914, funded by public subscription through the local community.

A Grand Concert and Dance was held on 8th July 1914 to celebrate the opening. The original building was corrugated iron, without internal walls or ceiling. Without running water, electricity, heating or cooling. Over the years, the ceiling and internal walls have been added, a kitchen constructed, electricity and running water connected, and gas heating and ceiling fans installed.

The hall has been in use now for 110 years, for concerts, dances, card nights, meetings and in December each year, Santa Claus is the guest of honour.

Festival of Small Halls rolls into Bungowannah on Thursday, 19 March 2026 with Irish Mythen (CAN/IRE) and Kaurna Cronin.
Opening the show will be Niamh Lavis!

From Niamh: I live on a farm in Hopefield, 15 minutes from Corowa. I’ve always sang and loved music but only recently decided to start doing gigs and having some fun with it. Almost a year ago was my first time singing in front of a crowd at my local pub in Balldale. It was so much fun and ever since, I have been performing more and more! I love singing all kinds of music such as country, RnB and pop. A singer that inspires me is Chris Stapleton! I’m so grateful to have been asked to sing a support act and cannot thank the Bungowannah Hall committee enough.
