Located between Dalby and Jondaryan 40 minutes west of Toowoomba, off the Warrego highway, Bowenville Memorial Hall is in the centre of town.
Owned by the local community since 1925, the hall hosts a number of events all throughout the year. They have dances every month, and annual Hall Ball and other community groups such as the cricket club, school and historical society make use of the facilities regularly.
In 2016 the Bowenville Post Office was moved, and is now situated in the hall.
As there is only a small voluntary committee that manages the hall, a grant was given by the Toowoomba Regional Council to make improvements, which included a loading deck and disabled ramp.
The floor is still the original and is made of Crows Ash timber. This hard, strong and durable native timber is naturally oily and so well suited for dancing that it could have been specially created for the purpose!
The Bowenville hall committee is very happy to open their doors once again to hold the Festival of Small Halls and to join the community together.
The Festival of Small Halls Bowenville is on Sunday, February 3rd.
