Beltana, 27 August 2022

Beltana Community Hall, SA, Adnyamathanha Country

Beltana Community Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Adnyamathanha People.

The Beltana Community Hall is a fully restored hall, with 200 Flinders Rangers paintings on display. The hall burnt down in 1879 and was immediately rebuilt, with one burnt stump remaining in the cellar for all to see. She has seen many a dance, church service funeral and wedding in her 140-year-old life. Early press clippings suggest old time parties went until dawn with many refreshments being had!

Festival of Small Halls returns to Beltana on Saturday, 27 August 2022 with Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan and Chris Tamwoy.
