Anakie Community Hall, QLD, Gayiri Country

Anakie Community Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Gayiri People.

The Anakie Community Hall – otherwise known as the Anakie School of Arts – has been home to many events over the years. The life and blood of the town, over the years it has seen weddings, yoga, sugar information evenings, church services, family gatherings, gem displays and school awards nights just to name a few. And now they are looking forward to the Festival of Small Halls!

Festival of Small Halls returns to Anakie on Friday, 13 October 2023 with Monique Clare and Shane Pendergast.

Opening the show will be local act Emma Sproxton!

Hailing from the small town of Gindie, Central Queensland, Emma Sproxton is a 16-year old Country Music star in the making. Emma found her inspiration at home, watching her Dad play guitar on the back verandah and a big extended musical family. Emma has been singing for as long as she can remember and is now a prolific songwriter, dedicated musician and a local favourite, playing regular shows and Country Music festivals around Australia. Emma’s original music is unique, earthy, acoustic-driven and strong in story-telling. With a love of country music at the core of everything Emma does, she is ready for the long journey ahead, ready for the hard work it takes to forge a career and loves every minute of learning, growing and finding the unique point of difference she brings to Australian country music.
